Argyle Ladies 5 Luton 0

ARGYLE Ladies progressed to the 2nd round of the FA Women's Premier League Cup after beating Luton 5-0 on Sunday.

Two goals from Katie Middleton and a goal apiece for Rachel Javan, Mollie Taylor and Danielle Pope were enough to give Argyle a comfortable victory.

Middleton got Argyle off to a perfect start on five minutes when her speculative ball into the box was completely misjudged by the Luton Town keeper who let the ball bounce under her into the corner of the net.

Middleton extended Argyle's lead in the 23rd minute from a direct free kick after Javan was tripped. Middleton stepped up and curled a right foot effort over the wall and although the keeper got a hand to the ball it just crept over the line at the near post.

The third goal came in the 35th minute after Kisielewska played a lovely ball inside the Luton defence to play in Javan who ran onto it from the left to dink the ball over the onrushing keeper.

Kev Rose made a triple substitution at half time and it was one of those subs, Mollie Taylor, who got Argyle's fourth goal in the 53rd minute. Picking the ball up down the right, she cut into the box at the byline and then saw her powerfully hit cross sail past the keeper into the far top corner.

Argyle could have extended their lead further, seeing three efforts hit the woodwork. They rounded off the scoring in the 80th minute when Pope prodded the ball in after Rebekah Rose's shot from the edge of the area was fumbled by the Luton keeper.
