RICHARD Eales became the latest Pilgrim to win £12,000 in our annual Argyle Foundation Jackpot Draw.

Richard, from Yelverton, was one of ten finalists selected at random by Argyle captain Curtis Nelson. The final draw took place on the pitch at the half-time interval during last week’s match against Morecambe, with the winning number being selected by Argyle legend Leigh Cooper - a graduate of the Club’s youth development programme.

After seeing his nine opponents eliminated Richard, who has been a Foundation member since it launched, was the last man standing and scooped the prize.

Speaking about his win, Richard said: “It was surreal really and I was really shocked to win, even though I was a finalist. When it came down to the last two, my heart was beating out of my chest.”

Even though he won such a substantial amount, Richard told us that it was not the chance of winning cash prizes that motivated him to become an Argyle Foundation member.

“The prize money is not the reason I joined the lottery," said Richard. "I am an FA-qualified coach and have been involved in youth football for quite a few years so it is something that I am passionate about. I joined the Argyle Foundation when it launched as I am delighted to help the Club’s youth teams."

The Argyle Foundation is an exclusive members club for Argyle fans and offers supporters the opportunity to play a role in the future success of the club. Proceeds raised by the Foundation are donated to the Argyle Academy, which aims to discover and develop the next generation of first-team talent at Home Park.

Each month the Foundation gives away £900 in cash prizes to supporters. There are also some amazing Argyle experiences up for grabs including signed pieces of kit and a boardroom experience. Foundation members also gain numerous benefits including exclusive big match ticket priority, the opportunity to attend twice yearly events such as 'Meet the Manager' and more.
