Cheltenham v Argyle - Pilgrim Punting

THEY say that three is the magic number.

Well, for Argyle, against Cheltenham, that has proved to be the case. In three of the last four matches between Argyle and Saturday's opponents, Cheltenham Town, the Pilgrims have scored three goals. Importantly, in three of our last four Sky Bet League 2 matches against the Robins, we have claimed three points. In addition, Argyle have scored three or more goals eight times this season.

Fancy us to score three times again? Well, both 3-0 and 3-1 to Argyle is available with Sky Bet at 22/1, while a thrilling 3-2 win for the Pilgrims can be found at 40/1. Sky Bet also offer a group bet of the three scores combined, which is available at 9/1.

Already, we can hear your reservations - Argyle have not exactly been free-scoring of late, you cry. Well, we will admit that is a fair point. But given that we have kept a clean sheet in half of our Sky Bet League 2 fixture this season, what about a tempting 11/4 on a bet of Argyle to win and to keep a clean sheet. Argyle have won 16 times in the league this season - and in 14 of those wins the sheet has stayed clean. The only exceptions have been wins at Northampton (3-2) and Exeter (3-1).

We spoke to Olly Lee on pafc.co.uk this week, and he reiterated his desire to chip in with more goals. The loan signing from Birmingham has sure come close on many occasions, as well as the time he scored at Hartlepool earlier in the year. Sky Bet go 14/1 on Olly to grab the first or the last goal, or 5/1 to score at any time.

We mentioned the 19 league clean sheets - exactly 50% of the games played - so far this season, right? Of course we did. Anyway, since that gives a statistical one in two chance that the Pilgrims will keep out the opposition, that seems to make the 6/4 on offer a decent bet, does it not?

That's got to be worth a punt, surely?
