Peninsula Report - Argyle 1 Cullompton 3

A YOUNG Argyle side fell short at Coach Road on Monday evening as they lost 3-1 to Cullompton.

The Pilgrims began the game well but failed to take their chances early on. The longer the game went on the more Cullompton got on top. A goal from Adam Randell wasn’t enough for the Pilgrims as they slipped to defeat.

Professional Development Lead Coach Robbie Herrera said: “We started the game brightly, and dominated the first 15 minutes. We got ourselves into good positions and passed the ball out wide putting in some good crosses. However, we failed to make the most of our chances and the longer the game went on it became more of a fight which suited them more.”

Argyle: Max Childs, Harry Hodges, Rio Garside, Tom Purrington, Andrew Burn, Elliott Crawford, Billy Craske, Adam Randell (Mani Skett 75), Klaidi Lolos, Michael Peck, Aaron Goulty (Reuben Collum 70) Subs not used: Isaac Burdon, Michael Cooper, Rubin Wilson.

Argyle continue their Central League fixtures on Tuesday with a top of the table clash against Bristol Rovers. Leaders Rovers sit only one point about the Pilgrims after playing one game more. The match will take place at Gloucestershire FA Oaklands Park ground, with kick off 2.30pm.

Admission is free, there is ample car-parking and a small covered seated stand.
