Five Out For Sunderland

Argyle Missing Edwards, Taylor, Riley, Wootton and Sawyer

2 November 2018

THE Pilgrims will do battle with Sunderland in Sky Bet League One with five experienced players unavailable for selection.

Ryan Edwards is suffering from a chest injection, while long-term absentees Ryan Taylor, Gary Sawyer and Joe Riley are still recovering from injury, and Scott Wootton has suffered a setback in his battle for fitness.

“He [Edwards] has a chest infection and will be out for Saturday,” said Argyle boss Derek Adams. “He’s seen the doctor about that.

“Scott Wootton is still with the medical team. He was due to return but has had a setback, and will be out for another couple of weeks.

“Ryan Taylor is also with the medical team, Joe Riley the same and Gary Sawyer still has a cast on his foot. We’ve got five senior players out and we could do with them all back as soon as possible.”
