Jarvis Cleal signs apprenticeships

ARGYLE have signed young midfielder Jarvis Cleal on apprentice terms.

Jarvis is most comfortable when in the centre of midfield but is equally adept on the right-hand side of the engine room, or at right-back.

Sixteen year-old Jarvis was born in Yeovil and lived in Sherbourne, Dorset, before leaving for Malvern, in Worcestershire, at a very young age.

He moved away from home at the age of 14 to join the West Bromwich Albion Academy on a full-time basis but was released by the Baggies this summer and has since had plenty opportunity to get back into the game. He had trials with fellow League One sides Oxford United and Walsall before arriving at Home Park.

Academy Director Kevin Hodges has been delighted with the way his new recruit has performed during his time so far at the club. He said: “He has settled in well with the group and was able to demonstrate his good technical ability; we are delighted to welcome him to Plymouth Argyle and are looking forward to working with him.”
