A YOUNG Pilgrims side was left to count the cost of not making the most of some early opportunities as Elburton Villa came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory at Haye Road on Tuesday.
Klaidi Lolos gave us an early lead in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division match as the Pilgrims dominated a first half in which they created several more chances, notably through Mani Skett.
After the break, Elburton came more into the game and levelled after Aaron Goulty slipped and conceded a penalty which Nick Aplin converted.
Aplin settled the match nine minutes from time, when he recated frirst and mopped up the loose ball after Michael Cooper had made a good save.
Argyle Academy head Kevin Hodges said: "We had a young side who did well, but we need to take our chances when we create them, and manage the game better."
