A YOUNG Pilgrims side was left to count the cost of not making the most of some early opportunities as Elburton Villa came from behind to claim a 2-1 victory at Haye Road on Tuesday.

Klaidi Lolos gave us an early lead in the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League Premier Division match as the Pilgrims dominated a first half in which they created several more chances, notably through Mani Skett.

After the break, Elburton came more into the game and levelled after Aaron Goulty slipped and conceded a penalty which Nick Aplin converted.

Aplin settled the match nine minutes from time, when he recated frirst and mopped up the loose ball after Michael Cooper had made a good save.

Argyle Academy head Kevin Hodges said: "We had a young side who did well, but we need to take our chances when we create them, and manage the game better."

Argyle: Michael Cooper; Joe Seery, Rio Garside, Ben Musselwhite, Michael Peck, Isaac Burdon (Tom Purrington), Mani Skett (Adam Randell, Harvey Tomlinson), Jude Boyd, Aaron Goulty, Klaidi Lolos, Rubin Wilson. Substitutes (not used) Max Childs (gk), Owen Raven.
