Derek Adams pre Doncaster H 3

JUST a week after making his first Argyle appearance as a substitute in the narrow defeat Charlton last Saturday, Peter Grant will make his full debut for the Pilgrims against Doncaster this weekend.

Signed in the summer following his departure from Falkirk, Grant has had to play a patient game in his bid to make a first-team impression at Home Park and that day has now arrived.

Argyle manager Derek Adams confirmed the news prior to the Sky Bet League One meeting with Donny and he will also be using some of the younger members of his squad on the bench, as we battle with a lengthy injury list.

“Peter Grant will start on Saturday and it gives him an opportunity to get some game-time, with Scott Wootton, Niall Canavan and Gary Sawyer all out,” said Derek.

“We will have some younger players on the bench and we’ve got an idea who will be involved tomorrow [against Ivybridge in the Peninsula League]. We’ve also got an Under-18 game, as well as the Peninsula.

“We’ve got a lot of fixtures to fulfil and it is likely that some of those involved tomorrow will be on the bench [against Doncaster].”
