Bali Wins Player of the Month Award
Bali Mumba is your Player of the Month for September.
In a poll on Twitter in which 1,061 members of the Green Army voted, Bali scooped 44.9% of the vote, ahead of Morgan Whittaker (24.2%), Dan Scarr (16.5%) and Adam Randell (14.4%).
Mumba started all four of Argyle’s Sky Bet League One matches in September, in which The Pilgrims earned 10 points from a possible 12, drawing at Portsmouth and beating Derby County, Oxford United and Ipswich Town.
Bali played a major part in Argyle’s equalising goal at Portsmouth, surging down the right flank and firing in a cross that defender Sean Raggett turned into his own net. Against Ipswich Town, on Sunday, Mumba scored a stunning goal to draw Argyle level in a game they would ultimately win to send them top of the division.
“I am very pleased to be voted the Player of the Month by the Green Army,” said Bali. “The highlight has definitely been scoring my first Home Park goal, in front of the Devonport End, on a day where we won and went top of the league.
“The whole month has been good. We have got a great group of lads, who are great to train and play with. The character and spirit we have in the dressing room is brilliant.
“I just hope October is as good as September has been!”
