PLYMOUTH Argyle's pioneering new family area - Family Zone For All - makes its debut when the Pilgrims play Aldershot this weekend.
The Family Zone for All will house, not only Pilgrims’ fans on match-days, but, uniquely in the lower leagues, is open to away fans. The area under Blocks 19 and 20 at the Barn Park end of Home Park has been transformed to allow young supporters to engage in invigorating pre-match activities where the emphasis will be on participation and getting active before the game.
The Family Zone For All is run by the club’s Football in the Community Trust and offers a wide variety of games and exercises offering work-outs for mind and body.
There will be a soccer skills mini-arena, mini-climbing holds, basketball and giant Jenga, as well as digital rowing and digital sports with Wii Fit and Wii Sport.
Children will be able to earn activity stamps which go toward their Children’s University Passport for each Family Zone For All activity they take part in.
There will also be a range of healthy snacks and drinks on sale from a dedicated catering outlet.
Argyle acting chief executive Martin Baker said: “Plymouth Argyle prides itself as being a family-oriented club at the heart of our community, and we want supporters of all ages to be able to enjoy match-days in a safe, friendly and fun environment.
“Our Family Zone is for all the family and for all supporters, regardless of the colours they wear."
The Family Zone For All will open at 1.30pm on match-day Saturdays.
A match-day Family ticket costs £25, a discount of £2 on the combined price of an adult ticket and a junior ticket.
There is also a Family Membership available, for one adult and one child under the age of 18, which costs £375 for all 23 npower League 2 matches. That works out at just over £16 per game.
The Membership package also includes additional benefits including: priority tickets for home cup games; a Junior Greens ‘Meet the Players’ day; free room-hire at Home Park; an invite to regular club events; discounts in the Argyle Superstore, at Akkeron Hotels, and on Saltrock clothing; and, for the youngsters, a signed birthday card.
