On To Exeter

LUKE Young had not even showered after Argyle’s 2-0 victory over York before his thoughts had turned to next weekend’s Devon Expressway Derby at Exeter.

The teenage midfielder returned from injury to play his part in the convincing victory, with an assist on each of the goals, and was still in his match kit when he told the Press afterwards how much he was now looking forward to the little local head-to-head.

“It is a great game to go into on the back of a win,” said 19-year-old Luke.

“We can go into next week on a high on the back of a good performance, and what a great game to go into and set our stall out at – away at Exeter, our local rivals.”

Youngy was the only Plymothian who started the York game, so possibly has more natural desire for the Pilgrims to do well in the St James’ Park noon showdown.

“Anything can happen on derby day - everybody knows that. It’s a case of giving it your all.

“I think we’ve got the quality – and we’ve got enough – to go up there and get a result. It’s just going to be what happens on the day.”
