Rain, Rain, Go Away

“SNOW is falling all around” sang Shakin’ Stevens in 1985, but in 2012, Argyle manager Carl Fletcher is more worried about the rain.

With the festive period well and truly upon us, the difficult weather has made preparation for Saturday’s game with Accrington somewhat of a headache, but nothing that cannot be conquered with forward planning.

“Our training pitch held up really well earlier in the week,” said Carl.

“We had a bit of work done to it in the off season and we’re reaping the benefits of it now.

“Okay, it’s been out of action later in the week, which is a little bit annoying when you want to work on things like team shape and you have to change from grass to Astroturf, because you’ve got players who can’t train on Astroturf, and it’s not the same size as the pitch.

“You have to change and modify things a bit and accommodate your needs because of the weather.

“I think it’s affecting everyone, whether it be the roads, sporting events or any kind of work.”
