No Appeal

ARGYLE will not be appealing against skipper Darren Purse’s red card at Fleetwood.

Darren was dismissed 15 minutes from the end of Saturday’s 3-0 defeat in Lancashire for an off-the-ball incident and will now miss the Pilgrims’ next three games starting with Tuesday’s visit to Bradford City.

Argyle manager Carl Fletcher did not see Pursey’s apparent coming-together with Jamie McGuire, which was also not picked up by the two sets of TV cameras covering the game at the Highbury Stadium.

“There is no video evidence,” said Fletch. “We can’t see anything.

“The linesman saw it and told the referee to give [Darren] a straight red card. He’s got one account and Pursey’s got a different story.

“You can’t go to an appeal board for that. It’s just his word against theirs.”

Fletch also confirmed that he had allowed Darren to leave the hotel at which the team has been based for the Fleetwood-Bradford double-header for family reasons.
