Loan Limits
13th October 2012
ARGYLE manager Carl Fletcher is a big fan of the emergency loan system, but says that he is not one just to sign players for the sake of it.
The Pilgrims’ boss has delved into the market several times throughout his short managerial career and believes that, for a club like Argyle, signing players on loan can be a very useful option.Fletch said: “You try and use it as best you can. I think it’s important that, when you bring them in, they bring something to your squad.
“We’re very lucky that [our loan signings] have come down and want to do well for the club – which is the most important thing.”
The most recent acquisition in Fletch’s loan quartet is Scott Griffiths, who left Peterborough only on Tuesday lunchtime to make his Pilgrims debut just seven hours later.
“We were looking for a defender all day on Sunday and Monday,” said Fletch.
“We looked at centre-halves and left-backs, utility men... so the fact that we got Scott in, who is a left-back, made sense for us. “
