Milija Aleksic 1951 - 2012

EVERYONE At Home Park sends their condolences to the family and friends of former goalkeeper Milija Aleksic, who has died, aged 61.

Born in Staffordshire of a Yugoslav father and English mother, Milija started his career with Port Vale and played for Eastwood Town - with who he won the FA Trophy - before he was spotted by Argyle when playing for Stafford Rangers.

After 37 games at Home Park between April 1974 and February 1976, he played for Luton Town and Tottenham Hotspur, where he won an FA Cup winners' medal in 1981 before losing his place to Ray Clemence, and also had a short spell with Barnet.

Milija passed away suddenly in Johannesburg on Wednesday night.
