Guy Madjo Signs

ARGYLE are borrowing much-travelled Aldershot striker Guy Madjo.

Madjo, 28, arrived at Home Park from Hampshire on Friday night to sign an emergency loan deal that allows him to play in Saturday’s Devon derby at Torquay.

The Cameroon-born Westcountry-based forward has joined the Pilgrims for a month, and is therefore eligible to play in Argyle’s next seven npower League 2 matches between September 8-October 6.

One of those matches, at Home Park on Saturday, September 15, is against Port Vale, for who Guy scored four goals in six matches on loan from Stevenage last season.

He later left the Hertfordshire outfit permanently to join the Shots and made 21 appearances for Dean Holdsworth’s side, scoring another eight goals.

Guy will wear the number 18 shirt while he is at Home Park.

Under-23 international Guy’s first English club was Petersfield Town of the Wessex League, from where he was picked up by Bristol City in August 2005.

After a handful of appearances for City, he moved into non-league with Forest Green Rovers, Stafford Rangers and Crawley Town before returning to the Football League with Shrewsbury Town in 2008.

After three goals in 15 games, Guy moved to Chinese League One side Guangdong Sunray Cave on a free transfer, scoring 10 goals in 18 matches.

The following season, he played for KS Bylis Ballsh in the Albanian Superliga before returning to England two years ago to sign for League One Stevenage.

He was an unused substitute when Aldershot beat Argyle 2-0 at Home Park on the opening day of this season, having played just a minute in the previous Westcountry encounter between the two sides last April which the Pilgrims won 1-0.
