Tip For Tyler
18th September 2012
SUPPORTERS who possess a particularly eager eye may have spotted the mystery number 29 warming up with the Pilgrims before last Saturday’s match with Port Vale.
Youth-team striker Tyler Harvey, a young man 12 years younger than his squad number, was the mystery man, featuring with the first-team after three goals in four Football league Youth Alliance fixtures this year.Although he did not make the match-day squad, Argyle manager Carl Fletcher is keen for Harvey - whose dad Lee is well-known in local footballing circles – to stick around the first-team in preparation for the future.
Carl said:”Tyler’s been up training with us a few times when we’ve been short of numbers.
“It’s just a bit of experience, so that, in the future, if he keeps doing well, he can join in and be a part of it and won’t be a rabbit in the head lights. He’ll get comfortable with it and that helps.
“We’ve got some good young players in there that he knows so it’s just good experience for him.”
