Point To Prove

ANDRES Gurrieri has extra incentive to have a good game at Burton and bring back the three points to the South West.

The Argentinean ace was, of course, a Brewer last season and has fond memories of his time spent at the Pirelli Stadium.

“They’ve changed quite a lot but I know most of the [players],” he said.

“I had a good relationship with Calvin Zola, their striker. He is a very good player. Some of them I still keep in touch with; there are good people there. It will be nice to be there and see old faces.”

Gurrieri signed for Burton in 2011 after a proposed move to Argyle fell through. Twelve months later, he finally became a Pilgrim following his release from the Derbyshire club.

Unsurprisingly, Andres feels he has a point to prove to his former club.

He said: “I’ve got some friends there, but I really want to win and show them what they lost when they let me go.”
