Football Books Competition

WE have teamed up with leading independent sports publisher Pitch Publishing to offer Pilgrims the chance to win three of the top new football titles for Christmas 2013.

The books are: The Lost World of Football; Six Stickers; and What A Shot!: Your Snaps from the Lost World of Football.

The Lost World of Football is the follow-up to the acclaimed Got, Not Got, by Derek Hammond and Gary Silke, which was runner-up in the BSBA Football Book of the Year Awards for 2012. It is another vast, colourful tome, jam-packed with memories, humour and more than 1,000 pictures and items of fan memorabilia.

Six Stickers charts Adam Carroll-Smith's mission to track down and photograph the half-dozen missing players from his Premier League '96 sticker book. In the epic adventure that follows, Adam gets lost in Belgium and even more lost in Kent; attempts to brush the moustache of a former Premier League legend; and eats chocolate biscuits with an ex-England winger, all in pursuit of his goal of collecting those last six stickers.

What A Shot! - also by Derek Hammond and Gary Silke - consists of 1970s and ‘80s snapshots that offer an evocative window into a lost world of football – from a fans’ eye view.

To be in with a chance to win all three of these cracking football books, answer the following question:

Who scored the winning goal in Argyle's play-off victory at Wembley in 1996? Was it a) Mickey Evans b) Adrian Littlejohn or c) Ronnie Mauge?

Send your answer to argyle@pafc.co.uk before midday on Friday, December 6. We will announce the winner on this site shortly afterwards. Good luck!
