Oxford: The Big Match
23rd December 2013
OXFORD United have turned our game on Boxing Day into what they are terming 'The Big Match'.
The league leaders are holding a firework display on the day of the game, as well as having local singer Laurence Robinson performing. They are expecting a sell-out home crowd. Five thousand yellow flags have been distributed to turn the stadium yellow. We, of course, know that our travelling Green Army can outsing and outperform any set of fans. With all respect to our friends at Oxford, we intend to ruin their day - in the nicest possible way, of course - by being louder and coming away with all three points.
Oxford United have partnered with the Children’s Hospital for The Big Match. The club told us: "The Children’s hospital saw players visit the Hospital earlier this month. We think they do a fantastic job at the Hospital to make children and parents feel safe and welcomed.
"The children have classrooms and play rooms in the hospital to allow them to carry on with the normal day-to-day lives.
"We will have their bucket collectors here on the day so please give generously to show that your club can make a difference to children’s lives."
