Former Pilgrims Club

JASON Banton paid due respect to some former Home Park heroes after securing the Pilgrims’ first away win since October with both goals in the 2-1 win at Aldershot.

Pilgrims’ manager John Sheridan has borrowed Jason from Crystal Palace where, as well as enjoying training every day with ex-Greens Yala Bolasie and Jermaine Easter, he has come under expert tuition from manager Ian Holloway.

“His style of football is very similar to John’s,” said Jason. “To be able to come here and play a similar way is good.

“John and Ian Holloway both like attacking football and, luckily enough, I’m an attacking player who likes to do stuff that they both like.

“Training with the likes of [Wilfred] Zaha, Bolasie, Glen Murray and Jermaine Easter...there’s a lot of talent there that you can feed off and learn every day.”
