Inside Knowledge

ARGYLE stand to benefit from a little inside knowledge when they visit Aldershot this weekend for their important League 2 clash.

Defenders Guy Branston and Anthony Charles have both played for the Shots in the recent past, while coach Gary Owers was part of the Recreation Ground management team that took the resurrected Aldershot to their highest ever league position – a play-off qualifying sixth in League 2 two seasons ago.

Pilgrims manager John Sheridan believes all three will enjoy their return trip to Hampshire.

“When you are player and you’ve played for a club, you always look forward to going back, for some reason,” said John.

“Under what circumstances the two lads left Aldershot, I don’t know, but, hopefully, it will give them a lift and they will want to get a positive result and perform well for us.

“Gary did well when he was there as assistant manager with Kevin Dillon.

“I think they are all looking forward to going back and getting a good result for Plymouth.”
