All Signed Up

JOHN Sheridan does not anticipate signing any more players before the January transfer-window closes on Thursday.

The Pilgrims gaffer has already brought five players to Home Park since taking over at the beginning of the month and is happy with his squad.

One of those, Reading striker Gozie Ugwu, missed out on a debut in the 0-0 home draw with Accrington because of a training-ground injury and will now have to wait until the visit of Dagenham & Redbridge to make his bow.

“If I keep everyone fit, I have got to get by with what I’ve got,” said John. “We had 24 players training this week.

“Hopefully Gozie will be fit for next week and we’ll get a good result.”

John will also monitor goalkeeper Rene Gilmartin, who suffered a hamstring injury during the first half against Acrrington.

He was replaced by Jake Cole, who shared a clean sheet between the two ’keepers by tipping away James Beattie’s late free-kick.

“I thought he did well,” said John. “Obviously, the save at the end was a great save.”
