All The Goss On Gozie

GOZIE Ugwu comes to Argyle having already enjoyed one successful spell in the Westcountry this season.

Gozie played the first half of the season for League 1 Yeovil on loan from his parent club Reading, making 17 appearances and scoring three goals.

The teenage forward made his senior debut for the Glovers in a 3-0 Captial One Cup success over Colchester United at Huish Park on the opening day of the season, and quickly followed that with his Football League debut, a 1-1 home draw against Coventry.

Before the first month of the season was out, 6ft 2in tall Ozie had also scored his first League goal, and added his second in the same game, Yeovil’s 4-0 win at Scunthorpe.

A further goal – what turned out to be the winner in a 2-1 home triumph over Doncaster Rovers - and 13 more appearances followed before Gozie returned to the Madejski following the Glovers’ 3-0 New Year’s Day home win over Leyton.

Gozie spent the second half of last season on loan to Conference National side Ebbsfleet United for who he scored four goals in nine games.

Following that, the Oxford-born product of the Royals’ academy player signed a new two-year deal with Reading.
