Gozie's Goal

GOZIE Ugwu wants to get among the goals.

The teenage forward, who has joined the Pilgrims on an initial month’s youth loan from Reading, is in his second spell in the Westcountry this season.

His previous six-month stay at League 1 Yeovil, which ended on New Year’s Day, was an up and down affair.

“I started off scoring, but got halted a bit by an injury,” he said. “I was out for two months and coming back was a bit difficult.

“I feel like I have found my feet now and am looking to play games and get some experience.”

At 6ft 2in, the Oxford-born 19-year-old has a presence about him, and is also a bit a speedster, all of which helps his number one aim.

“The main thing I look to do is score goals,” he said. “Just be direct and get in behind defences.

“I’ve got a good leap on me, but I really like to play my football on the floor.”

Gozie is well thought of by Reading and is under contract at the Madejski until the summer of 2014.

“It’s good to have that stability behind you,” he said. “I am looking to push on from there.”
