The Future's Green

AS Argyle look forward to the 2013-14 campaign, the Green Army have been given another glimpse of the future Home Park.

The latest architect’s impression of a proposed grandstand to take the place of the existing Mayflower Grandstand is an exciting interpretation of a tomorrow’s Theatre of Greens for a packed evening game against local rivals Exeter City.

Argyle are, of course, on the attack, with what looks like Pilgrims’ evergreen legend Paul Wotton taking a corner.

The proposals for the grandstand have been submitted to Plymouth City planners as part of an ambitious wider £50m scheme for Higher Home Park which includes an ice rink, a ten-screen cinema, a hotel, and shops and restaurants.

That also provides for significant investment of more than £1.1m to make improvements to Central Park.

Pilgrims’ manager John Sheridan has already called the vision “beautiful” and declared: “It will make Home Park the best stadium in the division and it’s something to really look forward to.

“It’s really exciting and I wish that we had it now. The chairman has done really well and there are really exciting times ahead.”

If the current Mayflower Grandstand is unavailable next season because of the start of the planned rebuild, all existing Mayflower Members will be able to choose a new seat elsewhere in the stadium.

Current Mayflower Members who are Members when a new grandstand opens will be given priority choice of available seating in the new grandstand.

Memberships for 2013-14 – which include a season-ticket for all 23 League 2 games – are now available from the Home Park Ticket Office: 0845 872 3335 or tickets@pafc.co.uk.
