17th March 2013
ARGYLE'S Ladies booked themselves a place in the Devon Cup final after a routine victory over Bay Ladies.
The result was never in doubt once midfielder Jodie Chubb had converted from an Ellie Dorey corner in the fifth minute.Sarah Stacey added the second when she cut in from the right and struck a firm shot across the 'keeper and into the far corner.
Stacey notched her second goal following a neat passing move through the Bay defence with Becca Rose supplying the final ball.
Stacey was the architect for the fourth goal, too, cross from the right for Steph Beck to feed Katie Middleton to drive a left foot shot home from 14 yards.
Just seven minutes into the second half, winger Chloe Bassett was the provider, crossing from the left wing to find Becca Rose twelve yards out. Her shot went under the diving 'keepers body.
On the hour mark, Emily Mousley replaced Stacey up front and within 5 minutes was on the scoresheet, finishing off a fine passing move.
Ellie Dorey crossed for Chubb to see her header saved by the keeper, but Rose followed up for an easy tap in.
Just before time, Bassett completed the scoring running in from the left to smash the ball home.
Argyle will now face either Exeter City or Plympton in the final the Devon FA Headquarters, Coach Road, Newton Abbot on Thursday, April 18.
