Joe Says So

NEW Argyle recruit Joe Bryan has got no doubts the Pilgrims will be plying their trade in the Football League next season.

Midfielder Joe, 19, made his debut in Tuesday’s 0-0 home draw with Bradford City, having joined on loan from Bristol City earlier in the day.

He saw enough of his colleagues in the 0-0 to give him confidence that Argyle can climb away from the League 2 relegation zone.

“We won’t be out of the Football League come the end of the season,” said Joe, who has signed for the duration of the campaign.

“From today, I am 100% confident we can do it; we have got the players in the dressing-room to do it.

“We have definitely got the fight and I think we’ve also got the quality. I saw it in patches today - it was a bit of a scrappy game, but you saw quality there.

“We held our own; did well. It was a decent 0-0 draw. Let’s move on from there.”

Wide-left player Joe travelled down from Bristol and arrived in Plymouth hours before kick-off, meeting his new team-mates for the first time in the dressing-room prior to the match

“I got a call, asking I was interested. Obviously, I was because I haven’t been playing games.

“It’s a bit strange, but all the lads have been brilliant with me, took me under their wing, helped me along.”

After 13 games with Bristol City in the Championship this season, Joe coped well with the diverse demands of League 2.

“It’s a completely different style of football, the physicality” he said. “I think it might take me a couple of games to get used to it, but I thought I did as well as I could do.

“Hopefully, I’ll be able to make more of an impact going forward, the more confident I get, the more games I get – I’m still not 100% match-fit because I haven’t been playing.

“There’s nine games left. I look forward to getting fit and helping us stay up.”
