Stick A York In It
31st March 2013
MISTER Argyle Paul Wotton believes taking the three points in Easter Monday's clash with York City will be a bigger result that the fantastic derby-day victory at the weekend.
Wottsy, who put in a blood-and-guts performance at centre-back against Exeter on Saturday, admitted that Argyle's 1-0 win was massively important for the side, but knows what an away victory would mean against second-from-bottom-of-the-league York.“Let's not get overexcited,” said Paul.
“It's a big three points but our game against York is probably a bigger one, even though the fans won't see it that way.”
And Paul, who scored his 66th goal for Argyle in the 2-0 victory against Southend almost two weeks ago, confessed there is still a lot more that can happen in the npower League 2 relegation battle heading into the final few games, but that the team's confidence is high.
“There's going to be nips and tucks and twists and turns all the way,” he said.
“We've got three wins in a row now, though, and we've been playing really well in the last six weeks.
“Even if we hadn't won against Exeter we would have been confident going into Monday.”
