"Lewi's Goal" Says Shez

ARGYLE manager John Sheridan has backed Pilgrims’ forward Lewis Alessandra’s claims for an FA Cup double.

Lewi notched the second goal in Argyle’s 5-0 demolition of Lincoln City in Wednesday night’s FA Cup with Budweiser first-round replay, when team-mate Reuben Reid scored a hat-trick.

However, Lewi was denied a second when local media decided his 65th-minute shot took a crucial deflection off defender Andrew Boyce, who they credited with an own goal.

“All five [goals] came from the strikers, in my eyes,” said John. “It wasn’t an own goal – it was Lewi’s goal.

“It was going in the back of the net and [Boyce] did well to get a touch on it.

“It was Lewi’s goal, for me.”
