Report: Bideford 0 Argyle 3

HOLDERS Argyle progressed to the third round of the Edenvale Turf Ltd Devon St Luke's Challenge Cup at Bideford's rain-sodden Sports Ground on Tuesday night.

Goals from youngsters Tyler Harvey, pictured, who netted in both halves, and River Allen saw the Pilgrims book their place in the quarter-finals of the the competition they won last season.

Argyle took the lead inside the first ten minutes, when right wing-back Isaac Vassell headed on Luke Young's corner for 18-year-old Harvey to apply the final touch.

Their Southern League Premier opponents made them work to maintain that advantage before Harvey extended the lead midway through the second half when he capitalised on Andres Gurrieri's pass.

Ten minutes from time, fellow teenager Allen's long-range shot deflected off Matt Bye to complete the scoring.
