Staying True
3rd October 2013
JOHN Sheridan will stay true to his principles as he seeks to propel the Pilgrims up the Sky Bet League 2 table.
Argyle enter Saturday’s little local affair at St James Park after three games without a win or a goal, but the Pilgrims’ manager is not about to throw the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to his team selection.“I’ve got a lot of players to pick from, and they are all biting at the bit to play,” he said. “I will always stick to my beliefs. I understand we are not on a good run, not in a position where I want us to be, but we’re not far off.
“I’m sticking by players and believing in players, and hopefully the time will come when they’ll prove to me that I’m making the right decisions. I purely make the decision on whoever I pick is hopefully going to win us the game on the day.
“Me, as much as anyone, gets down with results and where we are in the league, and looking at where we could be. So, I’m with everyone, but there’s still a long, long way to go.
“We have got to believe that what we’re doing is right and take it on to the football pitch.”
