CHECK out Sky Bet's preview of the Pilgrims' clash with Bristol Rovers this weekend.
Argyle let slip a lead to lose 2-1 to Morecambe at the Globe Arena last weekend but bounced back with a 5-4 penalty shoot-out win over Cheltenham Town in the FL Trophy in midweek. The Pilgrims are down in 15th after five games but a win here could catapult them up the table.
Plymouth matches haven’t been that exciting thus far with 11 goals scored in their opening five games(F6-A5).
Three of teose five, and the last five at home, have had under 2.5 goals.
Meanwhile, Three of Rovers’ five this term have also had under 2.5 goals and this fixture has ended 1-1 in the last two seasons so under 2.5 goals at 8/11 looks a solid addition to the accumulator.
With both teams low-scoring, and stalemates in the last two seasons, the 3/1 for a draw & under 2.5 goals also looks attractive.
Reuben Reid is the only Argyle player to score more than once in the league this season and with Bristol Rovers missing a few defenders he looks the one most likely to break the deadlock.
We’re not expecting many goals here and with the Pilgrims opening the scoring in their last three hosting middle-third teams we’d plump for Reid to be the 1st goalscorer at 11/2.
