Short and Sharp
21st December 2014
WITH Argyle’s Christmas period underway with a 3-0 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge, John Sheridan will be making sure to keep his players fit and ready for the flurry of upcoming games.
A brace from Reuben Reid and a tap-in for Bobby Reid made sure that the Greens can open their presents and tuck into their Christmas dinner with another valuable three points under their belts.
The lads will not have too much time to celebrate, though, as an away trip to Newport County on Boxing Day awaits them, followed by a home game against Oxford United two days later.
Whilst the schedule is demanding, it is the usual situation for clubs up and down the country over the festive period, and the Pilgrims’ manager is ready to guide his team through the rest of December.
“We will take training nice and easy, and the games come thick and fast,” said John.
“The weather at the training ground is not great, but they have worked their socks off. Obviously I have got to be wary that we have got two players that we have just got to look after as best we can.
“Most of it will be short and sharp, but we will prepare properly. They will have a bit of time with their families when appropriate, but we are in a hotel Christmas night, so we will be ready for a really tough game at Newport.”
