Graham the Ref

THE referee for Saturday's Sky Bet League 2 home game with Morecambe is Graham Horwood.

Graham has made two previous visits to Home Park, the last being in February 2011, as Argyle lost 3-1 to Tranmere Rovers in League One. A late Joe Mason goal was little consolation after Rovers had led via two goals from Lateef Elford-Alliyu and one from Enoch Showumni. Mr Horwood cautioned two players from each team on that occasion.

Graham's first visit to Argyle was to take charge of our game in 2009 with Sheffield United, when we lost 1-0 thanks to a late James Harper goal. That game saw five bookings, including two for the Pilgrims.

This season, Mr Horwood has refereed 19 games, cautioned 58 players - an average of almost exactly three per game. He has sent off one player; the unlucky man was Ishmel Demontagnac of Northampton, getting a straight red in a game against Milton Keynes in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy. Horwood has awarded four penalties this season.
