Brighton Incentive
5th January 2014
THE winners of today's clash with Port Vale have been drawn at home to Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round of the FA Cup with Budweiser.
Should Argyle prevail through this tie, they will play The Seagulls on the weekend of January 25 and 26.Argyle have played Brighton once before in the FA Cup, in the 1999/2000 season. Argyle progressed after drawing 0-0 at Home Park, then winning 2-1 at the Withdean via goals from Darren Bastow and Chris Hargreaves.
Brighton are currently seventh in the Sky Bet Championship. Their squad includes former Argyle forward Ashley Barnes, while ex-Pilgrims youth player Christian Walton in is Albion's development squad.
The two clubs have formed a close bond off the pitch in recent years. After an Argyle supporter created the concept of 'Fans United' to help save an ailing Albion, it was Brighton who mobilised to stage Fans Reunited at Home Park in our time of need.
Here's hoping we meet again at the end of the month.
