Seconds Out

PLYMOUTH boxing duo, Courtney Richards and Chris Adaway, visited Argyle on Saturday ahead of their big fights this weekend.

The local pair were invited to Home Park to see the Green Army defeat Carlisle United 1-0 and, at half-time, got to tread on the sacred turf.

Richards and Adaway were joined by fellow Plymouth boxer, Christian Hoskin-Gomez. The trio, who all fight out of Carl’s Boxing Stable in Plympton, enjoyed their afternoon as Richards showed off his British Bronze Masters Cruiserweight title and promoted Sunday’s ‘Best of Devon 2’ boxing show at the Plymouth Guildhall.

“It was great!” exclaimed Richards. “I haven’t been to Home Park for a little while, so I was very excited! I loved the atmosphere and the dream is to one day fight at Home Park! I’d like to thank Argyle for having us.”

“It was an honour to be invited to Home Park on Saturday,” Adaway added. “I think it's great to have Argyle supporting the show; and me and Courtney in particular. Hopefully some of the Green Army will switch from football to boxing on the 26th and come and watch us in action!”

The duo are in action at the Guildhall this coming Sunday, October 26. The afternoon show, which kicks off at 2.00pm, is being organised by EJKO Promotions in association with Carl’s Boxing Stable.

Cruiserweight Richards takes on Lithuanian, Igoris Borucha whilst lightweight Adaway makes his professional debut against Swindon’s Joe Beeden. Undefeated Exeter welterweight, Freddy Kiwitt, and undefeated Stoke light welterweight, Joshua McLaren, are also in action.
