Alex Joins Pilgrims' Crew
1st September 2014
ARGYLE have signed winger Alex Bray from Premiership Swansea City.
The 19-year-old midfielder joins the Pilgrims on loan from the Liberty until January 10 next year.
Alex, who has been with the Swans for four years following a spell at Swindon Town, makes the move a few weeks after his Home Park debut.
The Bath-born Welsh-qualified player was a 65th-minute substitute in City’s 4-0 pre-season friendly victory over Argyle, laying on the Swans’ third goal for fellow sub Gylfi Sigurdsson.
As well as featuring in Swansea’s pre-season matches in the Westcountry, Alex was included in their squad for a two-game summer tour in the USA, when they played Mexican Premier League side Chivas Guadalajara and NASL outfit Minnesota United.
He is in his second year as a pro at the Liberty after previously impressing in the Swans’ Under-21 development side.
His form earned him a call-up to the Welsh Under-19 squad but a hamstring injury deprived him of the chance to make his debut in Wales’ 3-0 win over Northern Ireland.
Alex has been given the number 17 shirt at Home Park and will be available for the Pilgrims’ FA Cup and Johnstone’s Paint Trophy matches.
