ARGYLE have signed Bristol City midfielder Bobby Reid on loan.
The 21-year-old Bristolian, who made 32 appearances for Sky Bet League 1 City last season, has joined the Pilgrims for one month.
He will be available for Argyle’s next six league matches, starting with the visit to Accrington on Saturday and ending with the Home Park encounter against Cheltenham Town on October 25. He is not available to play in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.
After graduating from the Bristol City ranks, having joined the club as a ten-year-old schoolboy, Bobby signed professional terms with his hometown club in April 2011.
He made his first-team debut a few days later on the final day of the Championship season but had to wait more than a year until coming into first-team reckoning again, appearing a further four times for City midway through their 2012-13 campaign.
Bobby then spent the last month of the season on loan to League 1 Oldham Athletic, for who he made seven appearances before returning to Bristol and claiming his first senior goal in the Robins’ final match of the campaign at Charlton.
Last season was a breakthrough one at Ashton Gate for the creative midfielder as he became a regular for the Robins under Steve Cotterill and was rewarded with a new two-year contract.
Bobby, who is cousin of former Watford and Swindon midfielder Anthony McNamee, will wear the number 17 shirt while he is a Pilgrim.
Welcome to Home Park, Bobby.
