John On Dom

JOHN Sheridan was fulsome in his description of Dominic Blizzard’s winning goal as the Pilgrims picked up their first Sky Bet League 2 away victory of the new season...

...with a comprehensive 1-0 win over Luton Town.

Blizz franked a fabulous first start of the season with the 68th-minute winner which saw him take the ball around several defenders before stroking it past goalkeeper Mark Tyler, leaving the Argyle manager purring.

He said: “I thought it was a great goal, not just a good goal – great composure, great feet. He’s got that in his game.”

Former Yeovil midfielder Dom was making his first start of the season after an injury-hit summer, which itself followed a stop-start last season when he was beset by a stream of niggles.

John said: “I’m really pleased for him – he’s missed a lot of football through injury and hopefully this will give him a boost now he’s back playing. He’s fully fit and he’s a really good footballer when he’s fully fit. He hasn’t really been that since he’s been at the club. I’m pleased it was him who scored the winning goal.

“He had a thigh injury. It’s a horrible injury and sometimes the slightest little thing can just affect you, but he’s trained solidly for three or four weeks and played in a reserve game last week. Hopefully, he’s crossed that bridge.”
