Forward Thinking Graham
23rd August 2015
THREE Argyle forwards had three different tales to tell after Argyle’s third win of the Sky Bet League 2 season.
Jake Jervis netted the Pilgrims’ second in their 2-0 victory at Northampton; Reuben Reid limped out of action early on, feeling his hamstring; and substitute Ryan Brunt stepped into Reuben’s boots with a fine performance.
Jake is now joint leading Argyle scorer – on three goals – with former Ross County team-mate Graham, who said: “He’s doing really well. The two of us have settled in after coming along way and are really enjoying it here. The type of football the manager wants us to play suits both of us.”
Argyle will assess Reuben’s injury and Graham said: “Hopefully, it will be okay. He’s a major part of our squad, with the amount of goals he got last year – and I’m sure he’ll be up there this season, as well.”
Ryan did not get on the scoresheet, but helped create Graham’s goal and won praise from manager Derek Adams for his contribution.
Graham said: “He scored a lot of goals in pre-season. He’s doing really well. He was just unlucky at the start of the season that the top goalscorer from last season was fit.
“The two of them have been playing really well – those two and Jake have scored a lot of goals in pre-season – so he can fill the gap.”
