Kids to Takeover Stevenage

STEVENAGE are running their annual Kids Takeover Day when we play them at the Lamex Stadium next Saturday, September 5, and you can be part of the fun event.

The Kids Takeover will see eager young Boro supporters becoming mini manager, junior kit man, media assistant, safety officer – and even chairman – for the day as the club gives the lucky youngsters a rare behind-the-scenes look at life at the Lamex.

Boro have selected home fans between the ages of 7-12 to take on special roles for the day, and are inviting young Pilgrims to fill two roles on match-day: away mascot and away director.

The away mascot will need to provide their own kit and match ticket for the day but the child will be allowed on the pitch before the game to have a kick around with the Boro’s foundation coaches whilst also being able to help lead the two teams out onto the pitch.

The away director will be provided with on-site parking and boardroom hospitality for the day. This includes seats in the Directors’ Box for up to four people (the child and their family). There is a strict dress code for the boardroom: no trainers or football shirts.

Any young Argyle fan who would like to represent the Pilgrims in the Kids Takeover should email Rick Cowdery at rick.cowdery@pafc.co.uk, saying why they should be considered to fill the role. Please put ‘Kids Takover’ in the subject header.

Dave Toyn, marketing, media & communications manager at Stevenage, said: “Our first Kids Takeover back in February was a huge success and it was always something we hoped to repeat this season.

“Our fans, staff and match-day volunteers have shown great support in backing our second Kids Takeover, as have our colleagues at Plymouth. As reigning League 2 Family Club of the Year, we’ll be continuing our efforts throughout the season to attract and reward the next generation of Stevenage fans with some fantastic experiences.”
