Northampton v Argyle - Pilgrim Punting
22nd August 2015
ARGYLE have won their previous four fixtures against Northampton, but will the Greens go marching on, or will the Cobblers fix their achilles heel?
Argyle are priced at 9/4 with Sky Bet to continue their winning ways against Northampton, whilst the Cobblers are priced at 13/10 to bounce back from their mid-week defeat to Barnet - whilst a draw, which neither side have had a game finish as this season, is priced at 11/5.
Argyle scored four on Tuesday, with Reuben Reid opening his account for the season. Reid is 9/4 to score in 90 minutes, whilst Jake Jervis, who scored twice against Carlisle is 5/2 to score in 90 minutes. Argyle midfielders Graham Carey and Gregg Wylde have both scored twice this season for the Pilgrims and both are priced at 7/2 to score in 90 minutes.
Argyle won by a margin of three goals against Carlisle, and are priced at 25/1 to win by the same difference against Northampton. Last season at Sixfields Stadium, Argyle beat Northampton 3-2, and for a repeat of that score line you can get odds of 40/1.
So far this season, the Cobblers first four games hasn't provided a match in which both teams have scored. Therefore, either Northampton to win to nil, at 11/4, or Argyle to win to nil at 9/2 would be keep within the current pattern of Northampton's season.
Both teams are on the same amount of league points and this promises to be a close encounter, so goals aren't necessarily a given. Under 2.5 goals is 8/13, whilst a correct half-time score of 0-0 is also priced at 8/13.
