Saltash 0 Argyle XI 4 - Report

LOUIS Rooney grabbed his second hat trick of pre-season as an Argyle side won comfortably at Saltash on Monday night.

Owen Jones' opening goal got the Pilgrims underway, with Rooney making it two by half-time and adding another pair of strikes after the break.

Notably, Argyle featured three pairs of brothers in their line-up. Louis was joined by his brother Dan, who is a first-year apprentice, while professional Tyler Harvey was joined by his younger brother Cory, a goalkeeper and second-year apprentice. Joining them was Aaron Bentley, in his second year as a pro, who was later joined from the bench by his younger brother Jordan, a first-year apprentice.

On the same evening, an Argyle side featuring a mixture of under-18s, under-16s and Community players won 3-1 at Plymouth Command.

Connor Rush gave Argyle a lead that was doubled by Connor McAuley, before the home side hit back with a goal from a disputed penalty. Jake Miller, though, put the game beyond Command with a third to seal the game.
