Business as Usual
23rd December 2015
WHILE much of the world grinds to a self-indulgent comatose halt over the next week, it will be business as usual for Plymouth Argyle’s players.
With Boxing Day falling this year on a Saturday, the Pilgrims’ training schedule shows only small difference to any other week in their Sky Bet League 2 season. Christmas Day is merely the day before their important home match against Yeovil Town, and the Argyle players will be in for training as normal.
Well, normalish. “We’ll start a wee bit earlier,” manager Derek Adams. “We’ll start at half past nine just to allow the boys to get back and see the family for a Christmas meal around about lunchtime. They will not eat [at Home Park]; we’ll allow them to eat with their families.
“It’s nothing new to professional football players. We enjoy the Christmas dinner and being with the family. Some of them will not be with the family, which is obviously going to be difficult, but they have a job to do and they will get that time to spend with the family later on.”
