Luke and Kelvin Latest

LUKE McCormick and Kelvin Mellor are on course to bounce back...

...quickly from the injuries they suffered in Saturday's Sky Bet League 2 match with Morecambe.

Goalkeeper Luke was substituted at half-time of the 1-1 draw after damaging a finger, while defender Kelvin played through an hour of the game with a damaged shoulder.

Both players were assessed on Monday to discover the extent of their injuries, and the news was good.

Argyle Head Physiotherapist Paul Atkinson said: "Luke had an x-ray which showed no fracture.

"He is suffering bruising and swelling of the ring finger on his left hand, towards the knuckle area.

"Kelvin is similar. His shoulder is not fractured, although he was in pain on Saturday night after the pain-killing injection wore off.

"Both will be hopeful of being involved at Hartlepool on Saturday."

Paul also had good news regarding two other sidelined Pilgrims: Marvin Morgan, who has been suffering from an abdominal strain, and former Hartlepool captain Peter Hartley, who has had a long-term hip problem.

"Marvin trained today," said Paul, "and Peter will be back in training later in the week."
