Cup Defence Begins At Home

ARGYLE will begin their defence of their Edenvale Turf Ltd St Luke's Challenge Cup by hosting Tavistock AFC at Home Park.

A date for the first round tie is yet to be arranged, but the game should take place before the end of August. Tavistock did not participate in the competition last season, but the two sides did meet for Argyle’s first pre-season fixture of the 2014-15 campaign last July.

If the Greens progress past the Lambs, they will then host either Tiverton Town or Elburton Villa in the second round at Home Park. Tiverton were quarter-finalists in the tournament last season, whilst Elburton were defeated in the second round.

The Pilgrims saw off Exmouth Town, Buckland Athletic and Willand Rovers on their way to the final against Bideford in May. After a thrilling game that finished 4-4, Argyle won 5-4 on penalties to lift the trophy.
