On The Cards

ARGYLE supporters who have Joined the Club for 2015-16 will be able to pick up their Membership cards from this Saturday...

...and those that do will be able to enjoy a 25% discount on pay-on-the-day prices to watch the Pilgrims’ first and only home pre-season friendly.

Membership cards for next season have arrived at Home Park and are being printed in preparation for fans to collect them from the Home Park Ticket Office from 9am on Saturday, hours before Reading visit the Theatre of Greens to take on Derek Adams’ new-look Pilgrims.

Match-day ticket prices for the 3pm kick-off are £8 for adults and £5 for concessions, but supporters with a 2015-16 Membership card will be charged only £6 or £3 – the same as pre match-day prices.

Derek’s five summer signings – Gary Sawyer, Jake Jervis, Graham Carey, Gregg Wylde and Josh Simpson – will have their first taste of head groundsman Billy White’s award-winning Home Park surface when Reading’s Academy Head Eamonn Dolan brings the Royals’ Under-21 squad to Home Park.

Reading’s youngsters enjoyed a very successful 2014-15 season under the former Exeter City player and manager, at the end of which they were promoted into the top division of the Premier League Under-21 structure; the previous season, they won the Premier League Under-21 cup.

Reading’s first-team has featured 32 Academy graduates in the first 15 years of this century, including Gylfi Sigurdsson, Simon Cox and Alex McCarthy. Dozens of other players have left the Academy to feature prominently elsewhere, including our own Carl McHugh and Southampton forward Shane Long.
