If they were a vegetable they would be... Sweetcorn. Both are yellow in colour, and reasonably well known despite never growing too big. Things reached boiling point with ex-owner Keith Haslam, who was an unpopular figure and Mansfield looked set to struggle until they could regain ownership of their club and stadium, the former was achieved in 2008 and the latter being achieved in 2012. They had a sweet season in 2012-13, returning to the Football League. They will be looking to keep their head above water after a close-call at the wrong end of League 2 last season.
