If they were a film they would be... School Of Rock. Gareth Ainsworth has more than one similar characteristic to Jack Black from The School Of Rock. Never mind the rock star hair, whilst Jack Black was posing as Mr Schneebly, Wycombe had a supply teacher (caretaker-manager) of their own, when Ainsworth took the reigns in September 2012. Since then he has led his team on an unlikely journey. After a 15th place finish in his first season, scraping survival in his second, not many could have predicted that Ainsworth's Wycombe would be competing at the top of the table, despite them eventually missing out on promotion to League 1 by a point and then a penalty shoot-out. Ainsworth will know that it's still a long way to the top if you want to rock and roll. And he will want to rock and roll.
